The Fight for LICH



A CiC supporter recently brought to our attention a glaring omission in the Choices in Childbirth social media world, and we’d like to take this opportunity to acknowledge that mistake.

Long Island College Hospital in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn is indeed one of the few hospitals that offered choices for women seeking low intervention births and great midwifery care. Let’s continue the fight to keep it open!


2) Call SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher at (518) 320-1355 and tell her “Stop putting Brooklyn patients at risk. Start accepting ambulances at LICH.”

3) Call or email Governor Andrew Cuomo (518) 474-8390,  email: and tell him “I urge you to take charge and save LICH for the communities of western Brooklyn. Restore the resident physicians to LICH.”

    It is over, LICH will be closed tight. Gov Cuomo ordered Downstate to shut it tight. The DOH is a friend of Cuomo and does and he tells them to do.
